Cafe and Sandwich Bar Insurance

Cafés and sandwich bars insurance

Who it’s for

We offer package business insurance policies for cafes (including those where customers sit in), sandwich bars, sandwich shops, coffee and tea shops and most types of food establishment that operate from shopping centre premises or major shopping complexes.

Many of the franchised sandwich and coffee businesses will offer their own bespoke policies. However, this does not mean that you cannot get comparable cover at a better price from a different provider. We have arranged cover for all types of franchised outlets, all of them have been offered better prices than the existing scheme arrangements. If you think that you are being over-charged, call us today to see what we can do.

We also provide public liability insurance, if necessary, for seating on pavements or concourses. Many of the shopping complexes insist on you having a minimum of £5,000,000 public and products liability. This should only add and extra £40 or £50 to your cover, do not pay over the odds.

Why it’s important - examples

In most cases, you will lease the building you trade from. This means that you do not have a responsibility to insure the buildings (although see below re full repairing and insuring leases). You will still have a responsibility for your business contents, stocks, computers, shop front glass (including decals and lettering) and any tenants improvements you have made. Tenants improvements are the thigns you would not necessarily take if you moved, but it was your cost to make the changes, such as fixed laminate floor, false ceiling, lighting and any other permanent changes to the building.

You need to protect your business from as many eventualities as possible. Costs are tight enough without being faced with a claim from an injured customer or employee.

Arranging a suitable cafe insurance policy is vital.

A full repairing and insuring lease (FRI) is where you have the responsibility not only for all the repairs, but also for the commercial building insurance. This does not need to be a separate policy and can be added to your standard package, which is much more competitive.

How businessinsure can help

Businessinsure are experts in all of the leisure and licensed trades including all types of food establishments, sit in, takeaway or both.

The commercial insurance companies are becoming much more fickle in 2011. They chop and change fairly regularly what they do, and do not want. We are business insurance brokers, it is our job to act for you, the client, to get you the best premium for the widest cover.

There are many websites that purport to compare business insurance for you.

Not many of them actually compare the market and give you advice at the same time, all they do is sell on price only.

We offer a fantastic speedy service and in most cases we can email, or call you with a quote within an hour of your call.

You don’t have to pay an expensive premium for mediocre cover. Instead you can come to Businessinsure in 2011 to get a better price. We can offer monthly instalments for all types of cafe insurance.

Policy cover summary »

Most of the business insurance companies will insure a cafe on a retail or shop insurance policy.

The covers tend to be very similar, with some offering additional sections, either where you have to choose what you want to add or they are included automatically. Rather than list the sections of cover for one insurer, we will send a full written quote to everyone that requests one. You then have the chance to review the cover and see whether this meets your demands and needs.

Certain insurers will offer commercial legal expenses, key person, equipment breakdown and unlimtied glass cover. Others, may offer more restricted cover. This is where speaking to a business insurance broker will help you in deciding what you do and do not need and the prices available.
