Tradesmen, contractors & construction insurance
Who it’s for
If you run or are responsible for a business, either as a sole trader or a limited company and you fall within one of the following categories, then it is likely that you will be able to purchase a tradesmens insurance package policy.
A tradesmens insurance package policy is designed to provide a basic level of cover required by the smaller contracting business. The policy includes three levels of insurance cover. These are employers liability insurance, public liability insurance tools insurance cover. Should additional covers be required such as contract works and hired in plant and equipment then the more suitable business insurance policy is a contractors combined policy. If you require a contractors combined business insurance policy, please call Businessinsure on 08456 024 589.
Why it’s important - examples
The main benefit of a tradesmens policy is that it is priced on a per capita or number of people (employees and directors or partners). This makes the policy usually more competitive as it is quicker and easier to provide a quotation. Most tradesmens policies are restricted to a maximum number of working persons, usually a maximum of ten.

Whilst the policy is fairly simple, because it is only made up of three sections, public liability insurance, employers liability insurance and tools insurance, you should ensure that you obtain your insurance quotation in writing and read through this thoroughly.
The old adage “the cheapest is not necessarily the best” is certainly true for business insurance and commercial insurance which includes surgery insurance. Businessinsure will always provide you with a full written quotation based on your insurance requirements that we have discussed. Whilst we can advise you that we feel a quotation is suitable for you, you should always ensure that any business insurance quotation that we provide to you provides adequate insurance protection for your business.
